The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) mobile biotechnology lab is visiting Mission Collegiate High School this week. Biology classes are conducting experiments using their own DNA extracted from their cheek cells. The mobile lab walks students through professional lab protocols, using professional level lab equipment. One of the sessions involves forensic science protocols to help the students solve a “crime” using DNA as evidence.
