MHS FFA Parliamentary Procedure team advances to state finals

                Mission High School FFA Chapter Parliamentary Procedure Team traveled to Huntsville, Texas to compete in this year’s Leadership Development Events. The state-wide tournament in parliamentary procedure began with 260 teams. This competition focuses on creating situation for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision-making, communications, and their knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization, Robert’s Rules of Order, and their ability to conduct a business session while following correct rules of procedure.

                The Mission FFA team won the Rio Grande Valley FFA District Championship, the Area 10 Association Reserve Championship, State semi-final championship, and advanced into the state finals. The Mission team placed 8th overall in the state finals. The team thanks Mission Mayor, Norberto “Beto” Salinas for his continued support of the team.

                The Texas FFA is one of the nation’s largest state FFA Associations with more than 106,000 members and more than 1,045 chapters.
