The students and staff at Cavazos Elementary School went all out for their book drive to support the H-E-B Read 3 School Book Drive Challenge. In just one week earlier this semester, they brought in 2,540 new or like-new children’s books. The campus of 520 students was rewarded this afternoon with a special visit by representatives of the Palmhurst H-E-B store and H-E-Buddy. During that special visit, they announced that Cavazos Elementary School had raised more books than any other school in the region that extends up to El Paso. The campus was presented with a $1,000 check.
