Veterans Memorial High School FFA students recently participated in the Rio Grande Valley District Welding Contest held at South Texas College. The Veterans Memorial FFA junior team placed third, while the senior team placed fourth. Senior team member, Jaime Coronado was the high point individual from the contest. This means he earned the highest score of all the welders in the competition. As the high point person, Coronado also won a Miller 140 AutoSet Mig welder donated by Matheson Tri-Gas.
Members of the junior team are: Ricardo Castrejon, Jacob Corona, Raul Ortega, Jose Zambrano.
Members of the senior team are: Jaime Coronado, Vicente Fajardo, Eric Melgoza, Emilio Hernandez.
A.J. Barba and Elder Castillo served as alternates.
