Veterans Memorial High School has four students who have qualified for the state wrestling meeting, based on their performance at the recent regional competitions.
Klarissa Blanco was the regional champion in her division. Karime Flores earned a silver medal in her division. Leslie Alaniz earned a bronze medal. The VMHS girls wrestling team finished a very close second (1.5 points) at the regional meet.
Armando Bustillos earned a bronze medal at the regional competition and is advancing to state.
Girls wrestling coach, Ben Yzaguirre was recognized as the regional girls coach of the year.
