MCHS BPA chapter has first students qualify for state

               Mission, Texas- Mission Collegiate High School (MCHS) Business Professionals of America (BPA) Chapter is sending its first group of students to a state competition.  This is not only the first year the campus has students who have qualified for the state BPA conference, but it is also the first year the campus has had an active BPA chapter. The students qualified for the BPA State Leadership Conference through their performance at an area level. The state competition will be held in early March in Dallas, Texas.

                The BPA students from MCHS who are advancing to state are: Yanairem Moreno, presentation management-individual; Ally Perez, fundamental spreadsheet applications; Janelle Rodriguez, network design team; Joselyne Rodriguez, advanced word processing; Sandra Sierra, network design team and computer network technology; Zully Trevino, advanced office systems and procedures; Vanessa Martinez, advanced spreadsheet applications.

                MCHS first opened with just a freshmen class in the 2012-2013 school year. Currently, the campus serves students in grades 9-11 and will expand to grades 9-12 in the 2015-2016 school year.

                BPA is a national organization for middle school, high school, and college students preparing for career in business and office occupations. The organization’s activities and programs complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of the skills learned at school.
