Mission, Texas- Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) student, Victoria Olivarez is the first in the school’s history to advance to the state powerlifting competition. She is advancing to the state competition, based upon her performance at the recent regional competition held this past weekend. The state competition will be held on March 20 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Powerlifting consists of three different lifts: bench press, squat, and deadlift. The scores on the three lifts are combined for a final score.
