MHS High Flyers earn awards at recent competition

                Mission, Texas- The Mission High School (MHS) High Flyers recently participated in the Showmakers of America Alamo City competition; brining home quite a few honors.

                As a team they earned: sweepstakes division one showmanship in pom, open (flamenco), and hip hop categories; best in category medium team and third place for the pom performance; runner up in the medium team hip hop category; and best in class medium team third place.

                Aby Abrego and Joselly Coronado earned third place division one duet category. Aryssa Castillo and Andrea Gonzalez earned division one duet category. Kimmy Villarreal and Crystal Hernandez earned division one duet category. Marie Cuellar and Irma Cuellar earned a division one duet category.  Abrego, Coronado, and Marie Cuellar earned third place division one small ensemble category.

                In the officer division, Hernandez, Garcia, Barajas, Gonzalez, and Anjelica Garcia received the following awards: sweepstakes division one; showmanship award in the hip hop and contemporary categories; third place in the jazz category medium team; third place in the contemporary category medium team; and best in class medium team third place.
