Powerlifters place in top at state competition

               Three powerlifters representing Mission High School (MHS) earned medals at the recent Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association state championships. Estephany Gonzalez placed third in the 132 weight class, with a total lift of 770 pounds. Sally Ochoa placed second in the 181 weight class, with a total of 995 pounds. Vaneliy Guerrero placed second in the 198 weight class with a total of 890 pounds. Gonzalez attends Mission Collegiate High School, but competes in athletics through MHS.
