MHS JROTC wins recent regional competition

                Mission, Texas- The cadets of the Mission High School (MHS) JROTC Eagle Battalion were recently presented with the first place trophy for the 2015 Bronc Challenge, hosted by The University of Texas Pan American. The competition consisted of over 400 JRTOC cadets from 27 high schools from throughout south Texas, including Laredo and Corpus Christi. The cadets competed in eight events that included: physical fitness, equipment carry, obstacle course, rope bridge, tomahawk bridge, log jam, Jacob’s ladder, and a crawl gauntlet.

                The MHS Eagle Battalion team not only received the first place overall trophy, but also second place for physical fitness, second place for the crawl gauntlet, and fifth place in the obstacle course. The event trophy was present by LTC Walter Llamas, professor of military science at The University of Texas Pan American.
