Mission CISD board member to receive national SkillsUSA honor

                Mission, Texas- Mission CISD (Consolidated Independent School District) Board of Trustee member, Minnie R. Rodgers has been notified that she has been selected by the National Board of Directors of SkillsUSA Inc. to receive the organization’s highest honor at the upcoming SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference. Rodgers will be presented with the National Honorary Life Membership in gratitude for her dedicated service to the organization and the students it serves.

                Rodgers served as a cosmetology teacher in McAllen ISD (Independent School District) for one year and then at Mission High School for 39 years, retiring in 2009. The cosmetology programs are a part of SkillsUSA. She has continued to play an active role in the SkillsUSA programs since her retirement. Rodgers was elected to the Mission CISD Board of Trustees in 2014.

                The SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference will be held in late June.
