Veterans Memorial FFA students advancing in competition

 

                Mission, Texas- The Veterans Memorial FFA Chapter has students who are advancing in competitions, based upon the recent Rio Grande Valley District FFA convention.

                Rene Olivarez is advancing to area competitions after placing first in extemporaneous speaking. Zenaida Alaniz, David Bazan, Samantha Diaz, and Christina Reyna are advancing to area competition with their Lone Star Farmer Degree applications. This is the highest degree of membership the State FFA Association can award. Roy Guerrero advanced to state with his FFA scholarship application.

                Kaitlyn Ramirez placed fourth in extemporaneous speaking at the district competition, but won’t be advancing. Samantha Diaz was elected as the RGV District FFA vice president. Zenaida Alaniz was elected as the Area X officer candidate and will be running for president at the Area X convention.
