Getting hands-on in the classrooms

While much of the instruction involved in our Agricultural Science classes involves more traditional classroom lessons, many do not. A recent example is shown here at Mission High School. A lot of the livestock related lessons involve a more hands-on approach.

Agricultural Science courses and the FFA programs make a difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.

Agricultural education prepares students for successful career and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber, and natural resource systems. The FFA organization envisions a future in which all agricultural education students discover their passion in life, and build on that insight to chart the course for the education, career, and personal futures.

Through FFA programs, members begin to discover their unique talents, their values, and their ambition in life. Programs provide them with the opportunity to travel, discover careers in agriculture, and develop their leadership skills. While FFA activities can vary greatly from chapter to chapter, they are all based in a well-integrated curriculum.
