Mission, Texas- In the competitive arena of FFA leadership contests, one of the main goals of the FFA chapters is to bring home the “Big Banner”. To accomplish that, students must place in the top five in the state finals. The Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) FFA Radio Broadcasting Team did just that this past weekend in the Texas FFA’s Leadership Development Events held at Sam Houston State University. They placed fourth in the state finals out of 686 teams.
Team members are: Zenaida Alaniz, Rene Olivarez, Samantha Diaz.
Leading into their appearance at the state finals, the team placed first in the Rio Grande Valley District competition, and second at the Area 10 competition.
