VMHS student athletes named to All-State Teams

            Mission, Texas- Several students from Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) have been named to All-State Teams for their accomplishments during their fall sports season.

            Three players from the VMHS football team are included in the lists. Bobby Tovar was named Honorable Mention All-State Wide Receiver by the Associated Press. Kevin Liebano was named Honorable Mention, All-State Defensive Back by the Associated Press. The Texas High School Coaches Association placed J.P. Martinez was named to its Second Team-Academic All-State.

            Two players from the VMHS volleyball team earned spots on state team listings. Gabby Lerma was named Second Team All-State by the Texas Sports Writers Association. Mariah Gonzalez made the lists of two organizations. She was an Honorable Mention on the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State Team and was named Texas High School Coaches Association All-State.
