Mission, Texas- The parents of students receiving services through the Mission CISD (Consolidated Independent School District) Special Education Department are invited to attend a special event on January 16, 2016, at Veterans Memorial High School’s Fine Arts Building. The concert and transition fair will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a concert performance by district students being served through the department. This will be held in conjunction with an informational transition fair and last until 12:30 p.m..
The fair will include information to help parents find community resources, customized employment, transitional services for living, Medicaid waiver information, and more.
District officials said there are many resources available in the community. This event is designed to help parents learn more about them, and to get more information directly from the service providers.
The theme for this inaugural event is “Winter Wonderland.” In addition to the student performances, there will also be food, and door prizes for parent attendees. For more information, contact Christine Clifford, Mission CISD transition specialist, at 956-323-5570.
