AMJH students reaching out to help hospitalized children

Mission, Texas- Students at Alton Memorial Jr. High School (AMJH) involved in the school’s Junior Officers organization have started a project to try and help brighten the stay of children getting treatment at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance.

It was an idea brought forward by one of the students. They recently purchased board games and stuffed animals and then spent part of a recent Saturday visiting several children at the hospital, some of whom are fighting life-threatening issues. The student’s goal was to spend some time with the young patients and to help lift their spirits.

Families of the patients were surprised and appreciative of the time the AMJH students took to visit.

Due to the response at the hospital, the AMJH Junior Officers are now hoping to continue to help more patients in the future. They are asking for donations or items that they can pass on to the young patients; ideally items like stuffed animals, board games, toys. The items can be dropped off for the Junior Officers at the AMKJ front office. The campus is located on at 521 S. Los Ebanos Blvd, in Alton.
