MHS students advance to state SkillsUSA graphics competitions

            Mission, Texas- Ten students from the Mission High School (MHS) recently participated in the SkillsUSA District 13 competition in the area of 3D Animation and are advancing to state level competitions.

            Gustavo Castorena and Trent Flores received first place in the 3D Skilled Event where they had four hours to complete a 3D model of a Thunderbird Rocket. The two also are advancing to state in the 3D Rendered Still Image Project competition after earning a blue ribbon for their project.             The following students or duos are also advancing to state competition after receiving blue ribbons for their 3D Rendered Still Image Projects at the SkillsUSA District 13 competition: Saul Pena, Issac Orozco, Daniel Salinas, Daniela Escamilla and Rocio Osorio, Lorenzo Lopez and Jose Guerrero, Jorge Esquivel.

            SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student to excel. SkillsUSA is a national organization serving teachers, and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in technical, skilled, and service occupations.
