Mission, Texas- Mission CISD (Consolidated Independent School District) continues to work with the Boys and Girls Club of Mission in a partnership promoting physical activities. One of the latest examples is a basketball tournament for elementary students. Boys and girls tournaments were held, dividing the district into two sides (east and west).
In the east side boys tournament, Mims Elementary School took first place. There was a three-way tie for second place between Midkiff Elementary School, Bryan Elementary School, and Salinas Elementary School.
In the east side girls tournament, Mims Elementary School took first place. Midkiff Elementary School and Bryan Elementary School tied for second place. Salinas Elementary School and Alton Elementary School tied for third place.
In the west side boys tournament, Waitz Elementary School came in first place. Leal Elementary School took second place. There was a tie in third place between Pearson Elementary School and Cantu Elementary School. O’Grady Elementary School earned the consolation prize.
In the west side girls tournament, Pearson Elementary School took first place. Second place went to Waitz Elementary School. Leal Elementary School and Cantu Elementary School tied for third place. Escobar/Rios Elementary School earned the consolation prize.
