MHS teacher receives Krispy Kreme Teacher of the Year award

 

            Mission, Texas- Mission High School (MHS) teacher, Ramiro O’Caña was surprised during an assembly to learn he was selected as the Krispy Kreme Teacher of the Year. O’Caña received some goodies, $500, and MHS also received $500.

            Krispy Kreme TX Doughnuts, in partnership with Oak Farms/Hygeia/Price’s recognized three area teachers, with O’Caña announced as the winner of the Teacher of the Year honor. Teachers are nominated by someone at their school- a student, parent, fellow teacher or administrator. The application asks for examples of how the teacher is a standout in the school community, how they encourage growth in their students, how they make learning fun or different, and how they impact the entire school campus and community.

            The Teacher of the Year Runner Up and Second Runner Up were also recognized at today’s event. They were from two other Hidalgo County school districts.
