VMHS FFA honored with multiple championship pennants

            Mission, Texas- The Veterans Memorial High School(VMHS) FFA Chapter has received numerous championship pennants for their accomplishments throughout the year. The pennants were presented during the Rio Grande Valley FFA District Banquet recently.      

            The is year, the VMHS FFA Chapter championships included: first place in FFA radio broadcasting, prepared public speaking, junior citrus identification and judging. Second place accomplishments include: senior citrus identification and judging; senior welding, extemporaneous speaking, senior creed speaking, job interviews. Third place accomplishments include: greenhand land judging, range plant identification, poultry judging, junior welding, agricultural issues.

            At the FFA Area X development events convention banquet VMHS FFA member accomplishments included: Zenaida Alaniz, second place in natural resources prepared public speaking and a retiring officer; Marco Diaz receiving a LoneStar Farmer Degree (state FFA degree); Alejandro Hernandez earned fourth place in agriculture policy prepared public speaking and fifth place in extemporaneous speaking; Kaitlyn Ramirez earned fifth place in agriscience prepared public speaking. The Veterans Memorial Golden Horizon Chapter Award is also advancing to state competition.
