Mission CISD migrant students complete summer programs

 

            Mission, Texas- Migrant high school students from the three Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) high schools spent part of their summers in studies and work. The six week programs are designed to help them get high school credit, concurrent enrollment credits, internships, and the chance to experience what it is like to live on a college/university campus. They participated in either the Migrant University Summer Experience (MUSE) program at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley or the Migrant Academic Achievement Residential Summer (MAARS) program at Texas State Technical College.

            The students who completed the MUSE program from Mission High School are: Marcela Rodriguez, Mario Maldonado, Luis Tijerina, Victor Rodriguez, Johann Venegas, Lissete Vela. The students from Veterans Memorial High School are: Juan Guerrero, Vanessa Barrera, Vanessa Cabrera, Jacqueline Gonzalez, Christian Noyola, Jazmine Ramon. The students from Mission College High School are: Milagros Duran, Emily Cain, Armando Duran, Kevin Maldonado.

            The students who completed the MAARS program from Mission High School are: Jose Cano, Carolina Garza, Almendra Herevia, Melissa Rangel, Erika Pena, Fabian Solis, Fatima Solis, Nancy Rangel.
