Mission, Texas- As a part of its partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Mission, Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) students recently took advantage of a cross country meet designed for younger runners. Teams of students from each Mission CISD elementary school competed in a one-mile event held at Veterans Memorial High School.
The top five teams for the elementary girls event were: Leal Elementary School, first; Mims Elementary School, second; O’Grady Elementary School, third; Castro Elementary School, fourth; Alton Elementary School, fifth.
The top five teams for the elementary boys event were: Mims Elementary School, first; O’Grady Elementary School, second; Leal Elementary School, third; Castro Elementary School, fourth; Midkiff Elementary School, fifth.
Coming up on Saturday, November 12, sixth graders will get an opportunity to compete just before a scheduled junior high UIL cross country meet at R. Cantu Jr. High School.
Other upcoming athletic competitions coming up soon through the partnership with the Boys and Girls Club include basketball and football tournaments in December.
