MJH students earn spots in All-Region Bands

            Mission, Texas- Fourteen students from the Mission Jr. High School (MJH) band program have earned themselves spots in a Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-Region Band. The intense auditions were held recently for positions in three different All-Region ensembles. This is the highest level of achievement for middle school students with the TMEA. he auditions were held over two days for the middle school students in the area.

            The MJH students who earned positions in one of the three TMEA All-Region Bands are: Eduardo Rivera, tenor saxophone; Darlynn Barrera, flute; Katie Adkins, flute; Austin Solis, tuba; Jaythan Barrera, trumpet; Isaak Salinas, trombone; Adan Ramos, tuba; Laura Barba, flute; Rodrigo Flores, trombone; Esteban Pena, clarinet; Gema Sepulveda, clarinet; Lauren Peralez, clarinet; Lexy Garza, clarinet; Nicolas Reyna, French horn.

            These students will join students from other schools in a special clinic on Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10 to prepare for the All-Region Band Concerts to be held on Saturday, December 10 at 4:00 p.m. at the La Joya ISD Performing Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.
