Congratulations to the Veterans Memorial High School Band! Nine members earned placement in the Region 15 TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) All-Region Band. These students competed against approximately 700 students to earn placement. The students are: Matthew Garcia-Perez (Flute), Alexandra Galvez (Flute), Kelly Lam (Clarinet), Bethany Duke (Clarinet), Fabian Gutierrez (Bass Clarinet), Jose Ramirez (Alto Saxophone), Paul McCoy (Tenor Saxophone), Rodrigo Barrera-Torres (Horn), and Damian Gonzalez (Euphonium). Fabian Gutierrez and Damian Gonzalez also advanced to the Pre-Area level auditions; and Fabian even earned advancement to the Area level auditions that will take place at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi in January. Fabian will have the opportunity to compete and earn placement in the TMEA All-State Band, which is comprised of the best high school musicians in the entire state of Texas.
