Student taken into custody

At Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD), creating and keeping a safe learning environment is a priority, as is keeping parents informed as much as possible as issues arise. District officials were alerted to social media messaging activity over the weekend of a threatening nature. While similar in nature, to recent rumors, they were through a different individual and focused on Mission High School. District officials worked closely and quickly with Mission Police officials to identify the person. That person has been taken into custody. At this time, there is no indication of any other safety issues for any of our schools.

Mission CISD is grateful to our local law enforcement for their quick actions to address the potential of any safety/security problems at our schools.

District officials also continue to encourage students and parents to report safety or security issues immediately. Notice it? Report it! Reports can be done through the Stay Alert Hotline. This can be done anonymously through phone call or text at 206-406-6485, email to [email protected], or online through www.stayalert.info.

District officials also ask parents to remind their children about how their online, social media, and messaging behaviors can have the potential of serious consequences.
