MHS FBLA member advances to national competition

            Mission, Texas- When the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) holds its National Leadership Conference in late June, Mission High School (MHS) student Marcel Rodriguez will be there. She has qualified for nationals after placing first in Database Design and Applications at the FBLA state competitions.

            A total of nine members of the MHS FBLA chapter competed at the area level competitions and qualified for state. They included: Juan Reyna, first place, computer problem solving; Oscar Ybarra, first place, cyber security; Melissa Molina, second place, accounting I; Samantha Reyna, second place, business communication; Aaron Relko, second place, introduction to financial math; Jensen Rosales, fourth place, introduction to business communication; Ruben Cantu, fifth place, accounting I; Juan Rodriguez, sixth place; accounting I.

            At the FBLA state conference, the MHS FBLA chapter was also recognized for contributing to the FBLA Endowment Fund of $1 per member every year since its inception in the 1990’s. Melissa Molina was recognized as a Texas FBLA Who’s Who member. Ramiro O’Cana advisor was recognized for his 37 years of service to the FBLA organization.

            Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. (FBLA-PBL) is the largest career student organization in the world. Each year, FBLA-PBL helps over 230,000 members prepare for careers in business. The mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
