On April 5, the Mission High School Symphonic band earned the highest possible ratings at their UIL (University Interscholastic League) Concert and Sight-Reading Contest at The UTRGV (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) Performing Arts Center in Edinburg.
Under the direction of Armando Rodriguez, the band received division 1 ratings from all three judges for their stage performance. They also received division 1 ratings from all three judges for their sight-reading performance.
“These students showed amazing improvement this year as they met the difficult demands of the music, and performed their program at a very high level,” said Assistant Band Director Armando Rodriguez.
