Mission Jr. High School calculator and science teams place in top 3 at state in 5A division

Mission Junior High School competed in the 5A division at the TMSCA (Texas Math & Science Coaches Association) Middle School Championship State Meet April 22.    

The Calculator Team won second place. The following students placed in the top 20: from sixth grade: Amanda Lozoya-2nd place, Sarah Martinez-2nd place, Ethan Zamora-12th place, Mathew Gallardo-13th place, and Brandon Molina-16th place; from 7th grade, Nicolas Torres-5th place, Sebastian Torres-5th place, and Emma Zamora-10th place; from eighth grade, Maielah Davis-2nd, and Eddie Rivera-20th place.

The Science Team won third place, with seventh grader Mariano Garcia placing 4th; and eighth grade’s Lucas Dovalina winning 2nd place, and Clarissa Arizpe winning 16th place.
