Veterans Memorial FFA Chapter headed to Area 10 FFA Competition

After a successful performance at the Rio Grande Valley FFA (Future Farmers of America) District Convention last week, the Veterans Memorial FFA Chapter will be heading to Area competition in Robstown, Texas.  Students competed in speaking events, talent events and district officer elections. Five students also advanced for state degrees. All of our FFA members represented Veterans Memorial High School very well and the results are as follows:

Kaitlyn Ramirez was elected as the RGV District FFA Chaplain for the 2017-18 school Year. In Senior Prepared Public Speaking -Ag Policy, Samantha Wolter placed 1st; in Senior Prepared Public Speaking –Ag Business, Klarissa Farias placed 1st; in Talent competition, Klarissa Farias place 1st; in Junior Prepared Public Speaking, Alexandra Salinas placed 2nd; Senior Prepared Public Speaking –Ag Tech & Comm., Kaitlyn Ramirez placed 2nd. 

Lone Star Degree candidates who advanced for Area Check were: Klarissa Farias, Javier Martinez, Kaitlyn Ramirez, and Jorge Salinas 

American Degree Candidate who advanced for Area Check was Zenaida Alaniz.
