Mission CISD to showcase student projects

            Mission, Texas- Want to see what some of Mission Consolidated Independent School District’s (CISD) best and brightest students have been doing in school lately? The place to be will be Veterans Memorial High School on Saturday, May 27, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for the Fifth Annual Advanced Academics Fair.This event is open to the public and provides a good opportunity to see some of the exciting areas being explored by Mission CISD students as they unlock their dreams and prepare for college, careers, and life.

            The main gym at Veterans Memorial High School will be used as the main exhibit hall. Each elementary school through high school will have display areas that will showcase student projects. The projects are researched and created by students served through the district’s advanced academic services programs. The displays will include multi-media presentations by students who will also be at the display areas to answer questions and explain their projects.

            The small gym at the campus will be used for the Alton Memorial Junior High School/Mission High School FIRST (For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology) robotics, and the Veterans Memorial High School FIRST Tech Challenge robotics. The nearby Band Hall will be used for demonstrations by Texas Computer Education Association robotics teams. The Destination Imagination team demonstrations will be using the nearby Mariachi Room.
