Due to a recent change in law, Mission CISD had to make adjustments to the 2017-2018 Academic School Calendar that had been approved by the Board of Trustees in February. House Bill 441 was signed into law in June. This legislation says a school district may not provide student instruction on Memorial Day. Several change options were presented to the Mission CISD Board of Trustees on July 27.
