MCISD Education Foundation Prize Patrol Surprises Recipients with Checks

Mission, Texas- Mission CISD Education Foundation Prize Patrol loaded up in school vehicles and caravanned to present checks to the scholarship/grant recipients before winter break. If the Prize Patrol entered the front doors of a campus that meant someone there was gonna be presented with a check. Recipients were extremely surprised and elated when the Prize Patrol entered with a huge roar of a horn. That surely stirred up lots of excitement with the recipients and their colleagues.


A total of seven scholarship recipients received a check and they are; Clarissa Saenz (MHS Ag. Dept.), Jannell Hernandez (MHS), Sarah Morales (O’Grady Elementary), Erica Kristine Santana (Ralph Cantu Jr. High), Ilissa Rios (MHS Sp. Ed.), Alma Saenz-Alaniz (Transportation Dept.), and Esequiel Gutierrez (Pearson Elementary). These individuals will be using their scholarship monies of $1000 to continue their education.  


There were also seven grant recipients that were presented with checks and they are; Fernando Perez (VMHS Ag. Dept.), Alfonso Rodriguez (Leal Elementary), Jose Huerta, Jr. (Marcell Elementary), Sarah E. Wilson (Marcell Sp. Ed.), Michelle Salazar (Cavazos Elementary), Maria G. Rodriguez (Escobar/Rios Elementary), and Elizabeth G. Adkins (Leal Elementary). Grant funds can be used in any way that will benefit the students whether it’s for additional books, special projects, classroom instruction, or other innovative instruction.


The MCISD Education Foundation has various fundraising activities throughout the year in order to provide the funds for scholarships and grants for district employees and will also provide scholarships for students towards the end of the school year.
