VMHS DECA students advance to state competitions

            Mission, Texas- The Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) DECA Chapter is sending 25 students to state competition at the Texas DECA Career Development Conference when it is held this spring. The students advance to state based on their performance at the recent District 1 Career Development Conference.

            The students advancing are the following-

            Business services operations: Javia Cerda and Yesenia Espinoza.

            Community service project: Victoria Bonilla, Arnaldo Cadena, Jarec Lopez.

            Business growth plan: Rojelio Cardenas, Rey Maldonado, Ivan Pena.

            Franchise business plan: Jaqueline Martinez, Selee Mercado, Abigail Amaya, Christa Cavazos.

            Independent business plan: Maria Diaz, Klarissa Farias, Karyna Lozano.

            Start-up business plan: Christopher Bravo.

            Hospitality and tourism operations research: Maia Mendoza, Alyssa Ramirez.

            International business plan: Miguel Ayala, Alejandro Martinez, Arath Rivas.

            Learn and earn project: Alek Garza, Andres Lopez.

            Public relations project: Andrea Flores, Deyla Rodriguez.

            The VMHS DECA Chapter also has two students serving as District 1 officers this next school year. They are Javia Cerda and Dayla Rodriguez.
