VMHS DECA Students Advanced to International Competition

VMHS DECA students competed in the International Competition in Atlanta, Georgia in various Marketing Events categories. They were recognized in a few areas such as the Business Growth Plan, Community Service, Promotional Campaigns, and the Learn and Earn Project.


Rey Maldonado, Rogelio Cardenas and Ivan Pena advanced in the Business Growth Plan. The DECA students also entered in two national portfolio events for community service and promotional campaigns. That team consisted of Alek Garza, Jackie Martinez, Alejandro Martinez, and Abigail Amaya. Andres Lopez advanced in the Learn and Earn project.


Two students attended the training as District Officers and representing VMHS and they were Deyla Rodriguez and Javia Cerda. These two having been helping lead the largest DECA District in the state of Texas with over 1200 members for the the 2018-2019 school year. Congratulations to all of these students that represented VMHS at this competition.
