Veterans Memorial FFA Chapter Participates in Texas FFA Career Development Events

Members of the Veterans Memorial FFA chapter traveled to Robstown on April 17, 2018 to compete in Floriculture, Livestock, Nursery Landscape, and Veterinary Science Career Development Events. Career Development Events (CDEs) build on what is learned in agricultural classes and encourage members to put their knowledge into practice. This assists in reflecting classroom instruction in basic technical, leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills. The following are the results of the competition:

Veterans Memorial FFA placed 17th in Area X and 4th in the RGV District in the Floriculture Contest. Team members included: Klarissa Farias, Kaitlyn Ramirez, Alyssa Rodriguez, Dariela Rodriguez, and Alyssa Vento.


Veterans Memorial FFA placed 52nd in Area X and 11th in the RGV District in the Livestock Contest. Team members included: Marcus Cordova, Jorge Salinas, Jose Salinas, Melanie Turrubiates, Tanesha Borrego, James Gulley, and Austin Solis.


Veterans Memorial FFA placed 6th in Area X and 2nd in the RGV District in the Nursery Landscape Contest. Team members included: Benjamin Garcia, Mandy Pena, Yaled Sanchez, and Brittany Sepulveda.


Veterans Memorial FFA placed 13th in Area X and 4th in the RGV District in the Veterinary Science Contest. Team members included: Stephanie Cedillo, Gloria Hernandez, Alexandra Salinas, and Samantha Wolter.
