MHS FFA members earn honors at state convention

            Mission, Texas- Several members of the Mission High School (MHS) FFA Chapter received honors during the 90th annual Texas FFA Convention held in Ft. Worth, Texas. Ariana Pena, Amelia Perez, and Julissa Alvarez earned the Texas State FFA Degree at this year’s convention. The State FFA Degree is the highest honor the State FFA association can bestow on its members for their active and successful participation in the FFA after a full three years of membership.

            Sebastian Carrillo, was awarded a Texas FFA scholarship for $20,000 provided by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship Program.

            All MHS students who attended the state convention spent a week attending leadership workshops, business sessions, and listening to motivational speakers as they prepare to start planning and organizing another successful program of activities for their 2018-2019 school year.
