Mission Collegiate High School had a total of nine students earn AP Scholar recognition for their exceptional achievement on AP (Advanced Placement) exams.
The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program provides motivated and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous, college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP exams. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement, based on students’ performance on AP exams.
Two students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award. This is earned by receiving an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams. The AP Scholars with Honor Award was earned by Jeremy Soto (senior) and Chelsie M. Barrientos (a member of the Class of 2018).
Another student qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction. This is earned by receiving an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams. The AP Scholar with Distinction was earned by Carina Y. Martinez (senior).
Six students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with grades of 3 or higher. Isacc Adame (senior), Sylvia E. Cardenas (senior), Julian G. Garcia-Hernandez (senior), Mario A. Marin (senior), America Rodriguez (senior), and Jasmine D. Martinez (senior). There was one member of the Class 2018 who earned this honor as well: Leslie A. Hernandez.
