Mission, Texas- Thanks to some dedicated students and staff braving the cold and rain, Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) was well represented at the 2019 Citrus Fiesta Parade of Oranges. Many of the district entries earned awards for their efforts.
In the elementary float category, Mission CISD schools took the top three awards. The Mims Elementary Float took first place. Second place went to Leal Elementary School. Cavazos Elementary School won third place.
In the valley products float division, the float created by the Mission High School and Veterans Memorial High School FFA Chapters won third place. This is the first time the two chapters worked together on a parade float for the Citrus Fiesta.
In the marching/walking-military category, the MHS JROTC received first place and the VMHS JROTC earned third place.
The VMHS Patriot Band earned first place in the high school band category.
The VMHS Patriot Stars received second place in the marching/walking-non band category.
