Mission CISD to hold pre-k pre-registration round up for 2019-2020 full-day program

Mission, Texas- All Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) elementary schools are recruiting students for this fall’s pre-k and kindergarten programs. A special round up, pre-registration drive for the 2019-2020 school year will be held on February 20 and 21 from 8:00-11:00 a.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m. The kindergarten pre-registration will only be for students who are new to Mission CISD.

Mission CISD elementary schools offer a full-day pre-k program with no language or income requirements. The district’s pre-k program offers dual-language instruction that can continue with the student through fifth grade, with teachers who meet standards for highly qualified designation. These teachers offer individualized instruction through a research-based curriculum. The Mission CISD pre-k programs also benefit from the district’s technology initiatives. Out-of-district transfers are welcome, including in our pre-k program.

Students to be registered for pre-k must turn four years of age prior to September 1, 2019. On the round up days, parents need to bring a valid form of identification (for the parent), the child’s birth certificate, child’s social security card (if available), child’s immunization records, and proof of residence within Mission CISD.

While parents will be able to complete registration for their new pre-k student online, they will still need to bring in the required documentation to the campus. The Pre-K Round Up presents the perfect opportunity for that. For online registration, go to the district website, www.mcisd.net and then click on the “Registration” link. From there information and links to the registration area of Student360 will be found. This system is mobile friendly, which means you can do online registration from a tablet, smartphone, or computer.

There is also a Student360 App available, for free, through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The Tyler Student360 system offers more, while also keeping it easy to understand. The Student360 App will make it easier to check in on your student’s progress, attendance, and so much more, anytime…anywhere. However, the app should not be used for registrations.

Parents in neighboring areas are welcome to bring their children to a Mission CISD school. The district does require an out-of-district transfer application for any children that reside outside of Mission CISD. The applications for the 2019-2020 school year are available at the Mission CISD Central Office, 1201 Bryce Drive, Mission. Parents with questions about out-of-district transfers may call 956-323-5578.
