Mission, Texas- The jazz band at R. Cantu Jr. High School (RCJH) will look a little jazzier during their performances thanks to a grant from the Texas Jazz Educators Association. The music program is being awarded a grant in the amount of $300. The money will be used to purchase special jazz band stands that not only hold the music for students but will also advertise the name of the jazz band and school when they are performing. This will give the students and their jazz band a more finished and professional look when they perform and add to their pride to be a member of the group.
