The Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) classes at Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) have come a long way in the two short years since their first participation in the FIRST Tech Challenge robotics competitions. They have tackled the challenges that come with competitions and presentations to become among the best in the area.
Recent competitions have resulted in teams earning the Inspire Award in the Edison League Championship; the winning alliance in the Curie League Championship; and the Think Award in the Hawking League. Plus, 8 of their 10 robots are advancing to regional championships to compete for a chance at advancing to the state championship to be held in San Antonio, Texas.
